This villa is an ideal place to spend family vacation: the two rooms are well appointed (although the futon mattress would benefit from being changed) and have a terrace where the view is magnificent. Downstairs, the kitchen is very convenient and the sitting room is nice. The set formed by the pool, garden and the beach is just heavenly: you can go from the pool to the beach in a wink or enjoy the shade provided by trees in the garden. The lush vegetation makes you feel isolated from the neighbour. On the left, there is no one because it is a vacant lot! The staff (Mauricio, Maria, Norma and Miguel) are very friendly, eager to please (the DVD player stopped working and the next day it was changed!) and discreet. Mauricio has cooked two Mexican meals for us... a true delight! Tankah Bay is a small treasure: it's quiet (we had the impression that the beach was ours), but not isolated, since nearby is the charming restaurant Casa Cenote. The location of the villa (ten minutes from Tulum, 20 minutes from Akumal) allowed us to go shopping and make numerous excursions. In short, it was a fantastic experience!

We've rented this house twice, once in 2008 and again in 2009. Both times with a group of girlfriends, the perfect getaway. The kitchen supplies are adequate for breakfast and lunch, as we drove into Tulum for all dinners. Provided water a huge plus. The pool and beach offer the perfect balance. We used the provided kayaks and snorkels every day. We love the location. Remote, yet only 10 minutes to Tulum, the grocery stores, and any amenities needed. Don't miss the honking truck in the morning, delivering fresh tortillas! The only con, and the only reason I didn't give this house five stars, would be the cleaning staff, while they did a great job, were unfriendly to the point of making us uncomfortable. Unusual in this land of friendly and happy people ... We would stay there again.

House is well laid out except for the very narrow circular staircase, wouldn't be ideal for children or older folks. Could use more kitchen ware, not enough bowls, etc.

Aslo, if I owned the property I would build a privacy wall to provide more privacy with the house next door as it wasn't very private when you were using the pool with the next door neighbors almost on top of you.

But other than these issues it's a great house, large property, a bit over priced in my opinion.

Our family stayed here in the summer of 2008. It is a beautiful and quaint house with a great pool and right on the beach. The house was very clean and so much fun with our own pool and palapas on the beach. We enjoyed the sunrises from the upstairs balcony. The beach was not the cleanest as it had a lot of broken shells, etc. but we enjoyed snorkeling in the bay. The house provided a kayak. The outdoor shower was a delight to use after being in the sun all day. Many showers were taken in the moonlight! Not close to restaurants, but we loved the seclusion. A short drive to Xel-Ha. One of the best parts of our trip. We would love to visit again!
