The house was great. The rooms were very soundproof. Each room has it's own AC. We loved having the pool, got in it every day. It was on back side and shaded which made it very refreshing as we were there in August. We also spent time on the ocean side. The stars were amazing at night.
There were 8 of us staying at the house. My husband and I and our 3 children who are in their 20's and their spouses.
We are all very active. We went snorkeling every day, saw turtles, stingrays, fish, etc. We also went swimming in caves. We were close enough that they could walk and do stuff or eat on their own or we could be together. The house could easily have held more people but we all had our own rooms and bathrooms.
There was construction on a house next door, which was somewhat noisy when you were in the main house, but the bedrooms were basically soundproof.
Very relaxing and private.
The living room and kitchen are not air conditioned but the house is designed so you get great cross breezes.
We loved the fact that we could walk to two different beaches. each less than 1/2 mile. You could not swim at the beach from our house, too rocky and too rough, but it was great. We loved the ambiance. Also, the houses that had the beach were not near the reef where the turtles swim in so we were excited that we were close enought to get to the beach we wanted to access. Our family thought it was the best vacation ever. Will do it again.
There was full time staff, they were delightful. The house was spotless, they brought us clean towels every day. We had gorgeous fruit bowls when we arrived and she even prepared some for us.
We had them cook and the food was delicious.

Perfect for a family with children.
Staff was wonderful.
House kept very clean.
Food cooked by Ester was excellent.
Would add a large ceiling fan to the back outdoor
patio and a drop down one in the living area. Without a/c in living area it gets a little warm during the day.

Casa dos Palmas is the perfect setting for a visit to Akumal. The accommodations are very comfortable, with a great layout of the house. It is really nice to have the pool right out your front door. Esther and Rigo, the caretakers, are delightful. Esther is a wonderful cook. Be sure to take advantage of this and have her cook dinner for you. Casa dos Palmas is within easy walking distance of the village of Akumal. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Casa Dos Palmas was absolutely terrific.
perfect location for fabulous ocean views and breezes. The staff were wonderful. house was spotless the furniture well made and updated and very large bedrooms with beautiful bathrooms.
pool was excellent but the temperature was unseasonable cold when we were there so did not use it much. would have preferred an ocean side pool but the other attributes of this house more than made up for that.
No reliable safe ocean access for snorkeling except for briefly at slack tide.
best testimonial is this we will definitely be back!!
