We are safely back in atlanta; however our daydreams are of snorkeling in Soliman Bay, a family lunch at Casa Yardena, and a Negra Modela! Our family had a wonderful vacation during our stay at Casa Yardena and appreciate everything you, Anna, and the staff did to make our stay so special. This was our 6th trip and we have watched our four grandsons grow from 2, 3,4, & 5 year olds playing on the beach into 8,9, 10, & 11 year olds who are graceful swimmers and snorkelers!
The improvements you have made to the property are very nice and we particularly enjoyed the new built-in cushioned areas. We have always thought Casa Yardena to be a beautiful home and each year we have looked forward to being there. It was also nice to have the groceries stocked when we arrived. Thank you for suggesting this.

I've just returned from an amazing week at Casa Yardena. First and foremost; props to the staff! They were incredible, especially Carlos the chef. I am a restauranteur and was very concerned that the food being local, fresh, and safe. It was fabulous- he even gave me recipes and when I left gave me a block of this fabulous Mayan spice rub Achiote with the kind words "from my kitchen to yours." The location and setting were gorgeous, and the house is very luxurious and welcoming. I especially loved the entrance to the home, which is very jungle like and has an amazing huge birdcage filled w/ lovebirds and canaries singing away. The only reason the house did not get a full five stars is b/c there were some maintenance issues; the kitchen is poorly stocked on plates/ glassware/ silverware so we often had to use plastic/ paper (which is bad for the environment AND not very luxurious). There were problems w/ the A/C in several rooms and a few of the safes did not work. Basically, this is just a home that's been used a great deal by lots of people over the last ten years or so, and it's starting to show. It's incredibly clean and well kept, but not brand new, exactly. There is a new property a few doors down called Hacienda Carocola (apparently the same owners/ designers) that is GORGEOUS and will be my next vacation place... but only if I can bring Carlos down to do the cooking!
