Comments about LocoGringo Tropical Evergreens:

The photos on LG do not do the place justice (it is more beautiful than the photos can show). We have done business with LG for almost 10 years and this is the cleanest property we have enjoyed. The interior and exterior looked as if it had just been renovated. It was our first time in a place without a/c, but the constant sea breeze and the layout on the first floor along with the multiple fans assured reasonable comfort during the time we were there (first week of June). The loft can be a little stuffy since it does not get the direct flow like the ground floor; the fans help immensely. I would think it might be almost intolerable in July and August. The week we were there we saw barely five people on the beach (probably because school wasn't out yet in all areas) until the Saturday before we left when a few families with kids and dogs showed up and interrupted the serenity a little, but hey, they were there to have fun, too. The beach dogs were a hoot and made their morning rounds while we were having our fresh ground coffee (provided). Overall we got plenty of hammock time in the palapas and were close to both Akumal and Tulum to enjoy our favorite places, although I find it hard to believe Oscar y Lalo's moved from the Corona-commercial spot they had on the beach to the highway; we were looking forward to shooting our own private commercial there :)

Service & Delivery comments:

Mari's attention to cleanliness was most appreciated. The few times we were there when she was cleaning she was so quiet and unobtrusive we hardly knew she was there. The evening we arrived after our long travel day, we found a gang of cucarachas in the downstairs shower (not just one or two, but about fifteen), so I needed to get Mari for help. We have come to expect encounters with insectos down there, especially in open beach houses, so we took it in stride and had few if any other problems. The grounds and the beach were always impeccably cleaned and raked daily; it was a challenge to get up early enough to catch the caretaker at work, he was like an elf in the night :) Unfortunately we never got to meet him.

Comments about LocoGringo Tropical Evergreens:

We stayed in the "big house" using two of the three bedrooms. This property is perfect for larger groups, especially families. The well-appointed kitchen was really welcome as we love to cook. The louvered windows and palapa roof are musts for us and Tropical Evergreens displays both tastefully. The house has a great, open feel. Of course, the nice garden in front and palapa just yards away made this house ideal for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation - everyone had a fantastic time and we all had lots to do, or not to do, for a family ranging from aged 6 to 81.
Thank you unpronouncable Icelandic volcano for the opportunity to extend our stay by a few days!
