This was our second time to Akumal what can I say besides perfection. Our caretakers catered to our every need. On our last evening there they cooked for us and its was hands down the best meal of our stay. Air conditioning in the bedrooms only, which is all you need with the ocean breeze. The coolest thing happened while we were there, we had a small private beach in front of our villa,on our first night there turtles came up and layed eggs, a couple nights later we saw newly hatched baby sea turtles making their way to the ocean for their first swim! MAGICAL!!! We've traveled to Mexico many many times I can't think of a better vacation than this one. Accommodations were perfect for 4 couples plenty of privacy! LOVED IT LOVED IT!!

The only issue I had was the noise from the renters at the property next door. They were very close to this property and it was irritating at times. I would still rent this property again.

Great house
Highlights
- Spacious rooms, great back porch. Our kids were able to use it as a giant sandbox!
- Kitchen well stocked
- Lots of beach towels
- Housekeepers are wonderful - great to set up a grill - very accomodating
- Kitchen is well organized with large table for easy large dinners
- Beautiful home - really special
Issues/things to note
- Pool was VERY cold
- The upper bedrooms do not have an interior connection - so the family with small kids on the upper floor had to share a bedroom (parents in one room/kids in the other)
- Roof deck isn't convenient
- Not that clean - lots of dust, but overall tidy
- Very limited storage space in kitchen
- Beach is swimmable, but rocky

We loved this place. Each bedroom suite was very private with its own ocean view. The staff was great, our only regret was that we did not have them cook for us the first night, the food was so great and so reasonable would probably would have had them cook for us every night! The only (maybe) downside is that it is very rocky right here and hard to get in the water, but you don't have to go far to the beach.
