Comments about LocoGringo Casa Caribena:

Casa Caribena is very well appointed and comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The facilities both indoor and out wont disappoint. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space if desired and the living areas and patios are very spacious and easily accommodate large groups. We had a fantastic time and cant wait to return.

Comments about LocoGringo Casa Caribena:

Stayed for a week with friends and the house is HUGE. Had plenty of places to hide away when desired and hang out as a group also. This was my first trip to Mexico and I would warn against a few things: this is a villa, not a resort. The refrigerators don't keep everything supercold, and neither do the air conditioners. Also, the staff speaks very little English. But the staff is amazing, they understood my basic Spanish and hand motions, and they were great cooks and caretakers. The house was very clean and well cared for. The pools and beach and views were amazing.

We couldn't have asked for a better Casa. The owners have left out NO details. We had already seen all of the pictures and we were still in shock when we walked in. The place is HUGE! The more we walked around the casa the more little details we found. Someone was constantly saying "come here abd look at this". Don't bother taking a book to read, there is a mini library there with something for everyone. The whole place inside and out exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The pool is a full size pool. You can lounge on a float and read a book or you can swim if you want to. It is NOT just a dipping pool. The flora and fauna on the property are beautiful. I can not say enough good things about Casa Caribena to do it justice. The only "con" I have about our stay is that I had to leave some of the conch shells behind because I found so many and some of them were too big to bring home!!!! P.S. We stayed the end of May 2010 and the weather was beautiful.

The stay was wonderful and the staff was great with good cooking. However, $525 for a housekeeper and occasional cook (5 meals in a week) is a bit high. I'm sure she gets a salary and this was extra. Way over $10/hr is high in US and definitely high in Mexico. I would stay here again though. We did have to keep asking for towels though. There were 13 of us and we kept running out.

Comments about LocoGringo Casa Caribena:

We just returned from a week on the beach at Casa Caribena. We had an absolutely great vacation. The home and grounds were immaculate--better than advertised. The location was absolutely beautiful, and close to Tulum and many other activities. The snorkeling in the bay was awesome and was easy for the kids to navigate. We also enjoyed use of the kayaks and the swimming pools. We loved the roof-top patio--especially early in the morning before our kids woke up! One of the best benefits of this home is Lily and her staff. Lily's cooking was truly superb. We enjoyed homemade salsa and guacamole every night--it was so good. Don't miss her Chiles Rellenos and Huevos Rancheros. The staff takes such great pride in the care of this home and it really shows. We hope to make it back there again someday.
