Comments about LocoGringo Villa Dos Jaguares:
The house had interesting architecture, Mid-Century Modern Dean Martin meets Mayan ruins, with a very spacious feel. The outdoor courtyard Jungle Jacuzzi, and Jungle Shower in the master bedroom were both a unique experience. The staff were all so friendly and warm and very helpful. However, they did not seem to have performed maintenance at all before we arrived. The Jacuzzi was dirty and completely inoperable, except for once when they poured clean hot water into it so we could enjoy it for a few hours, until the water eventually cooled again. Also when we arrived the guest room upstairs did not have hot water because the water heater pilot light was not on. Also a pipe under this bathroom burst at 7am pouring scalding hot water all over the floors. They did not have a pool so we were really looking forward to the Jacuzzi as our main entertainment gathering spot, so not having it was a big disappointment and value loss for what we paid. However, they treated us to a nice home cooked meal as compensation for all the daily repair visits for the water heater, burst pipe, and inoperable jacuzzi. I would have preferred a substantial discount, since the main feature of the house was broken the entire time and the constant repair visits really did not allow us to completely relax and enjoy our vacation. I probably would not rent this house again, unless I was guaranteed the use of the Jacuzzi and that they had performed maintenance checks on the pipes and water heaters. But I'm glad I experienced it once. I would mention this place to a friend with all the warnings, but would not completely recommend it as a first option.
