We loved the house! Dino and Artemia could not be better - wonderful and kind. Will do your laundry every day if you like for a fair price. Next store has a great pool for the kids and you can get a great massage - ask for deep tissue if you want that. Otherwise, you keep low pressure. My only comment is that the sheets were clean but had stains on them. I think the owners should buy new sheets for a house of this caliber. That part was a little annoying. The view is fabulous, the beach wonderful, the location quiet. Will love to go back. Our children - 2 eight year old girls, and one 3 year old boy had a blast. Tip, Tip, Tip! All these folks need the money and there does not seem to be much trickle down. They need you to hand them cash - dollars preferably, not credit cards.

Just spent a week at the Casa, with a group of 8, also rented the casita. Loved the house. The wonderful couple who are caretakers- Dino and ARtemia were the best. Friendly always greeted with a smile! They kept the facilities immaculate, could even walk in sock feet, floors were spotless. Hired ARtemia to cook a meal, it was fabulous and very reasonably priced. The beach is wonderful, and even though there are houses on either side, it feels very private. I love to cook, and I found everything I needed in the kitchen, very well equipped. The casita is awesome, more like a small house than a studio, very quiet, comfy king bed, and another well equipped kitchen. We would definitely return to this property. Great for group of couples or family, rooms and bathrooms are very private and quiet. Great location, close to Akumal and not too far from Tulum, really close to Chemuyil which has several great restaurants. Great snorkeling right off the beach.

The onsite caretakers Artmenia and Deno are just the best. We also had them cook for us and it was the most amazing food I had the whole week we were there. The house is beautiful and the location is to die for. We will definetely return. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. Roxanne Craine

Comments about LocoGringo Casa Sombra:

The roof leaked in several spots, causing wet master bed. Wet slippery steps going up stairs, wet slippery hallway downstairs. The house had a bad mildew smell when not smelling like bug spray. Had to use alot of towel to keep these areas safe and dry. Could not leave any food on counters because of ants and bugs. Every morning after housekeeping left the house smelled of bug spray. Before going to bed at night the beds would have to be shaken out and hope not to get bitten while sleeping - which happen several times. The BBQ grill burner was burned/rusted out. Overall we were very disappointed with the house. For the amount of money it cost to stay here - one does not expect these types of issues. Questioned several neighbors asked if they were having a bug problem , and they were not. So it was not the area just this house. Some monies need to be spent on the maintenance . Even the caretakers (Dino) said there is a problem with the roof leaking. The area is beautiful, I will be back , but not to this house.
