This private paradise was more than we could have hoped for and while the four miles from the Sian Kaan entrance to the villa required concourse skills to avoid the potholes, it soon became apparent that this road contributed to the fact that we only saw six people on the beach during our entire week. This allowed us to take full advantage of the opportunity to be bare (foot?) and fancy free as we enjoyed the villa's comforts and natures wonders; seemingly endless sugar sand beach, tumbling turquoise ocean, amazing sunrises, moonrises (full moon while there) and sunsets. One morning we even witnessed a tiny sea turtle making its way to the ocean. Also, the villa's caretakers, Alicia and Roger, were readily available but unobtrusive and always smiling. Though we choose to cook for ourselves (the kitchen is a gourmet's delight), one day they treated us to ceviche on the beach and a lunch of Roger's fresh caught lobster and fish accompanied by Alicia's homemade tortillas. We also applaud Alan (owner) for his conservation efforts in this biosphere and you'll be pleasantly surprised when you find that you have drinkable water, hot showers, wireless internet, ceiling fans and even air conditioning (not needed during our stay). These comforts are available due to rain water harvesting and water filtration/purification system, solar panels, the wind turbine and two propane powered generators. Our only advice would be to stock up on food and beverages in Tulum because you're not going to want to leave paradise once you arrive. Quatro Amigos

We have been vacationing in Playa Del Carmen and Tulum for the last 4 years. We have been looking for a home to rent in the Tulum area the last couple of years. We can not say enough about this residence... It is roomy and warm... The owners have done a very good with all aspects. The property staff are so polite and helpful.. and if you have them cook meals for you... OMG... the best local prepared food you will ever find... Very private beach... walked both directs.. and only ran into one couple over the 7 days... This is heaven..... The best kept secret...
