We stayed 4 nights at the Hacienda Chichen Resort during February 2012. We are so glad that we decided to stay 4 nights, as suggested by a friend that had visited the Hacienda once before, because we were able to really unwind. We fell in love with the gardens and all of the beautiful birds. We went on the birding tour, we visited the resident naturalist at his Maya Hut, and toured the Hacienda's organic garden. We obviously visited the archaeological park of Chichen Itza in the morning, before the tour buses from Cancun arrived. We stayed in the Tatiana suite and the bed was wonderful; I believe it had a mattress topper that was heavenly!

Hacienda Chichen was a great splurge. The food was excellent and worth the price. Staff and grounds are great and Chichen Itza is a wonder that has to be seen. Staying here and being able to get in early is better than taking a bus from another location. Come here for the nature and to get away. Not many outlets in room, no TV, perfect to unplug and enjoy the area. Piste has good local food. Trip to Villadolid for the afternoon was also a good spot to experience local culture and food.
