Pelicano Inn and staff are fantastic! It has a true Mexican/Mayan feel with real hospitality. We ate breakfast every morning in the restaurant and had amazing food on the beach in the afternoon with our cocktails. The service was as good as it gets. If you are prone to take pictures of stained water fixtures or are messed up by the fact that your towel rack may be broken...find an all inclusive or stay home. The experience was real and the people were real. The bed was not my bed...but it never is when I'm not at home. If I go to Mexico again, I will stay at the Pelicano Inn.

The view is by far the best thing at this hotel and the rooms are spacious. However, the mattress was hard and the towels were old. Music played right next to our suite until 2:00 a.m. We wanted to relax and that was not possible. We were told bottled water was not available.

rooms were pretty much as we expected having stayed in similar what i would call decent but economical hotels in mexico many times.
ac worked, beds werent luxurious but were adequate.water/shower was hot.
but i have to say you wont find a room with better access/proximity to the beach as the beach front rooms at the pelicano and that was what mattered to us.kids can go direct from the room onto the beach within full view of the room entance thus supervision is just a matter of sittinf on the patio watching.
