we loved our time at Villa Las Estrellas. The staff are all extremely helpful and kind and the whole atmosphere is just wonderful. Our only complaint was that they don't have screens on the doors that open out to the porch/beach so one can't have that nice breeze coming in at night. Sleeping was a touch difficult because of that.

Villa Las Estrellas is quaint and charming. It felt like my home on the beach. Right on the beach - possibly the closest hotel to the water - with an unobstructed view makes for a wonderful atmosphere. The constant breeze felt great and kept mosquitoes away. The king-sized bed is comfortable. The king-sized balcony is equally enjoyable. We loved VLE and will return.

Sandwiched between Los Liros and Shambala, our little slice of paradise was a bit hard to find at first. But when we did, Giuseppe greeted us warmly and showed us to room #2. With a large King sized bed, plus a twin and a trundle bed underneath we found it was perfect for families. We were on the ground level so from our balcony we were able to step right out onto the powdery, sandy beach. The waves were only a hundred steps or so away—convenient and wonderful to fall asleep to at night. This small boutique hotel has 6 beachfront rooms, as well as a reception area that serves as a lounge and restaurant. You can sit for a drink/coffee, eat your breakfast, (included) of warm pastries and fresh fruit, or enjoy an amazing dinner – simply delish! It's easy to walk to other establishments for lunch and dinner, but I recommended eating at least once at Villas Las Estrellas.

Comments about LocoGringo Hotel Villa las Estrellas:
My husband & I spotted Villas Las Estrellas when staying at another establishment close by --- we've visited Tulum many times before and usually pre-book just a couple of nights in advance so that we can decide on where we want to stay for our remaining time once we get there. This hotel was only just opened in June of this year and it's obvious that a great deal of thought has gone into every aspect. It has just 6 rooms and all of those that we were shown were lovely --- huge, comfy beds with lovely clean white linens and canopies, good pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water, plenty of storage to pack your things away (including the many pieces of reclaimed wood that have been moulded into the walls to use as various hooks and hanging spots --- a very nice touch) along with the most incredible view from your very own hammock on the spacious balcony overlooking the best part of Tulum beach. The Italian/Brazilian owners, Simone & Thais, are wonderful people who made us feel so completely at home. Breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean is a wonderful way to start the day with their fantastic cappacinos, tasty breads and a thoughtfully decorated fresh fruit plate. In fact, the food in the restaurant really does deserve a special mention and we were thoroughly spoiled by their chef, Roberto, throughout our stay. The much-loved resident hounds, Tequila & Polo, are the very best of friends and make great companions to while away your days on the beach --- stick-throwing/fetching from the waves is a particular favorite past time. We were also lucky enough to be there during turtle-hatching season and were treated to three nights of baby turtles scurrying to the ocean from the surrounding dunes and helping a few stragglers along their way. We absolutely loved our stay at Villas Las Estrellas and are planning a return visit already!
