Where to begin, it was an unpleasant experience staying there in October 2009. Staff was not expecting me when I arrived (were not aware of my reservation made through Loco Gringo). Not their fault, but they were not friendly or helpful about it either. I was given a second floor unit that was barely furnished. What was there was awful - hard bed, uncomfortable couch, ugly plastic mini-blinds, smelly toilet, weak shower, no furniture on balcony, one towel a day. In my reservation, I had requested a unit with a fully furnished kitchen as I hoped to prepare some meals in. But this one was poorly equipped and dirty. The apartments shown in the website are nothing like what I got. I had no hot water for the first 48 hours despite my numerous requests to the caretaker. I would have left but I had several day-trips and tours planned so I didn't want the hassle of moving. I just avoided spending any time there and ate my meals out. By the way, the location is not next to the jungle anymore - they are building a road next door and there's large construction projects in progress very close by. Not their fault, but you wouldn't know about it from the website.
I complained to Loco Gringo when I got back, but received no apology or refund offer from the owners. The owners are in Italy and no local management is there as far as I could say. I'm surprised Loco Gringo still lists this property.
