OUR GENEROUS AND FRIENDLY HOSTS, AND STAFF WERE AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME. WE WERE GREETED ON ARRIVAL, MADE TO FEEL AT HOME, AND WELCOME THE ENTIRE WEEK. WE ALL FEEL THAT OUR HOSTS ARE NOW OUR FREINDS IN AKUMAL
WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING AGAIN SOON.
WE HEARTILY RECOMMEND CASA GATOS TO ALL. IT IS ESPECIALLY GREAT FOR FAMILY GATHERINGS.
THE RELAXED PRIVATE ATMOSPHERE SUPPLIMENTS THE MANY ACTIVE OPTIONS JUST OUTSIDE THE ENCLOSURE. THE ROOF TOP VIEWS ARE REALLY SPECIAL AT SUNSET.
ONE OF THE MOST RELAXED, (AND ACTIVE AT THE SAME TIME) VACATION IN MY EXPERIENCE.

Casa Gatos is hands down the best value in the Akumal area! Dave the owner has created a very special gem. My wife and I stayed at Casa Gatos for three wonderful nights in early December. The owner Dave went out of his way to make us feel at home! But my home is not nearly as beautiful as Casa Gatos. Our room was unbelievably large and equipped with anything you needed. The decor was amazing. Just minutes to Akumal,this is the purrfect place! Truly the nicest accommodations we have encountered in 15 years+ traveling in Mexico. Thanks again Dave!

We had such a great time at Casa Gatos. It is very nice, the price can't be beat, and Dan and David are the best! They were very friendly and helpful. The garden is absolutely beautiful and I love the bathroom in #102. It is very close to Yal Ku lagoon and Half Moon Bay. We rented bikes and they are the perfect way to get around and avoid having to walk downtown in the heat. I highly recommend it! We will definitely be back!

Casa Gatos is a lively, homey and exotic accomodation experience. The hosts accomodate every need, are full of information and have a great attachment to the preservation of the Akumal area and its natural elements. The day we arrived we felt like we could easily stay for a month, unfortunately we had made other plans, but we will go back. It is close to some snorkel beaches, and the bike rentals are nearby and the only transport you need for the town and pueblo. Caso Gatos is an artful life, and I am so glad I was able to participate.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews online to find a special place to stay close to the water and removed from lots of night life. I found the most perfect place at Casa Gatos in Akumal Mexico!
Dan and Dave are such gracious hosts and I can promise you my next visit to the Yucatan will bring me right to the door of Casa Gatos. Everything is so beautiful and delightfully decorated. I found the apartment to be so spacious and comfortable and inviting… after a long day of snorkeling it was so nice to come home! My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We will most certainly return because Casa Gatos has all that one would need (and then some) to have a fabulous, relaxing vacation!
Snorkeling in the lagoon was a major treat, tons of fish and even two large rays welcomed us along the swim out to the open ocean. The fact that we could walk around the corner from Casa Gatos to the lagoon and the beach made it that much sweeter! Snorkeling in Akumal Bay was equally fantastic as we counted 9 sea turtles along our route. To end the day on the roof top of Casa Gatos with a glass of wine and a fantastic view just topped it off. Your gated courtyard was a place I would have been content to just sit in for much of our stay if I only had the time and the sound of the fountain was a constant delight. Thank you for serving the coffee and the treats in the morning… a wonderful added touch!. I found the space very well equipped with the essentials and it is extremely clean. I loved that the temperature at night (Late November) was so perfect that we never needed the air conditioning. I adore the feel of Akumal, so quaint, friendly and breathtakingly beautiful. Although I am tempted to keep it a secret… I would recommend this lovely hide away to anyone!!!
