I found this resort to be exquisite. I could not have carved out a better vacation for myself. It is extremely clean. I can't say enough great things about the staff (who can't do enough for you) but to name a few memorable people... Sylvia at the front desk was always very helpful, Pasquale at Wicky's treated me like a queen, Chris served us quite often as well and he was super. Hermundo served us at the pool and he never stopped smiling (very infectious), Patrezia at the beach bar worked extremely hard and was always so pleasant. So many others as well made this vacation perfect for us. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I do not have one bad comment about this resort other than we had to leave. We are hoping to return next year. We have been to many destinations over the years but this one so far is our favourite.

As I stated "our best trip yet" we've been coming to PDC for 10 years or so. We've stayed in all-inclusives, villas and a couple different condo villages. We stayed in november with family and a couple friends (16 total) then came back again in March with our company. (42 ppl)
Hands down, Encato El Faro was the overwhelming favorite from all our visits. Why?
1. Location, location, location. Its downtown on the beach. Close to everything, but far enough away to not feel in town.
2. The staff: from the loco gringo staff (Natalia and Katie) to the condo staff (Sylvia was amazing) everyone you encounter is friendly and helpful.
3. The units themselves are very modern and beautiful. Each bedroom had a plasma TV, the beds were extremely comfortable.
4. Wicky's might be a little too expensive to eat and drink at on a daily basis, but each time we did eat there, we were very happy with the food and great service ( this means a lot coming from us, as we're all restaurateurs) the Chef at Wicky's is awesome.
The only negative really was the condo units come completely bare: no spices, olive oil, etc that you may find in other condo units. Not a big thing at all, though!

As you know, sometimes it can be little inconsistent when you book on-line. Check in was a breeze, there were no surprises with the property. We went with 15 people in four units. Age range was 7-78. Something for everyone. The units didn't come with laundry or dish soap, as well as spices, cooking oils, etc. Something we've come to expect from other condo units. The wifi seemed to only work in the lobby. TV's (for those who need it) were tough to figure out.
Overall, a good experience. Props to Sylvia at the front desk. Very nice, very professional.

Great for kids, the beach is centrally located.
Loved the facility as a whole. Some minor issues that were addressed immediately.
We plan on staying here again as it provided for a very relaxing family vacation.
