The view from the casa is stunning, and the casa itself is gorgeous. Most days, we had the beach and the bay almost to ourselves - not counting the sea turtles, fish and rays. And what a perk to have kayaks at our disposal! Casa de Canciones is also a great launching pad for all the area attractions - far enough away from the crowds, but close enough to reach all the places worth seeing.

Casa de Canciones was a wonderfull change from the usual all-includive vacations of the past. We rented a car and stayed at 3 different locations. This beach home did not disapoint.
We stayed on the 2nd floor unit and loved it. Just a stones throw from the ocean bay, and just rustic enough to be really cool.
Soloman Bay is beautiful, and for snorklers it is great. Many fish and sea life found directly in front of the home in the bay that is protected by a large reaf.
Talum and Acumal are just 10-15 min drive, and plenty to do in both locations. We enjoyed going to the local super-market and buying our food, then cooking on the outdoor grill in the evenings.
We will return... someday.

We had a wonderful vacation here. Perfect getaway. We enjoyed kayaking and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water and walked to a couple of restaurants. People are friendly too, we will be back!

This was a true gem of a find and totally what I was hoping for in a remote isolated beach location. There really is nothing bad I can say except, just a few comments that would have made my personal experience more comfortable. The property has an onsite caretaker which for security is very re-assuring. The caretaker also provides daily maid service which I found invasive and un-nessasary ( arriving at 11am and staying for upto 2 hours somedays) I felt uncomfortable having someone in my space during the day while I was there. I think there should be someway to notify this person if you do not want service, the lovely gentleman did not peak english. The guest book strongly advises that you tip this lovely gentleman about $20 (US) a day, which I also found a bit unreasonable. The road leading into the location is very bumpy, my little rental car took a beating! I noticed that many residents and return guests were driving large SUVs I can see why.
