Comments about LocoGringo Sombras del Viento:

Amazing house in an amazing location. We had 12 people stay a week at the house, and we could have stayed for a month!

Great things:
--It is a large, well-appointed house.
--Right on the beach.
--Very airy.
--Plenty of seating and decks.
--Amazing staff who took care of all our needs.
--Spacious. Big enough for 12 people to have there own space and never feel cramped or in each others business.
--Great pool and well kept grounds.
--An iguana that we named Leo.
--We got a private chef for the week (Roger). If you have it in your budget, we HIGHLY recommend it. The chef was a highlight of the week.
--Kayaks and snorkel equipment included.
--Short drive to a lot of sites, groceries, etc.
--Our favorite excursion was Beach Road in Tulum.
--Take the walk down the beach to Chamico's and get the ceviche!

Heads up:
--Crazy bumpy access road to the house.
--Due to seagrass and rocks, you probably need water shoes to enter the ocean.
--If someone comes by trying to get you to go to Sahara Cafe (a restaurant down the beach)...I would think twice. We had a pretty bad experience there. Go to Chamico's instead!

Overall, amazing property. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Comments about LocoGringo Sombras del Viento:

We stayed at Sombras del Viento last August. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit on the first floor. The newly built house is well equiped, clean and very comfortable. It was a great vacation. The house is about 10km from Tullum which is an easy ride to make your grocery or have a snack.
It was our first try at renting a property and we really liked the formula. The only downside might be the access road from the main street which was in bad condition but they had already started to improve it when we were there.
A great place!

We loved our stay at Sombras del Viento, the kids loved the pool and the beach, also the Sirocco apt. was perfect for us, clean, enough room for everyone, you need to bring watershoes because of the grass and rocks when getting into the sea.We loved it and we are going to repeat it with more family and friends.

Comments about LocoGringo Sombras del Viento:

The apartments within Sombras del Viento make it easy to travel with other families and still maintain privacy. The walk-out leading right to the pool and beach allows the kids to play on their own while you keep an eye on them. We had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate renting this apartment again. Just keep in mind that you'll have at least a 15 minute drive to access grocery shopping, gas stations, etc.
