Great place, nice atmosphere, good location if you want to travel around the yucatan. Leon is a wonderfully good natured host and great yoga instructor. If you need all fancy amenities this place probably isn't for you. But if you enjoy a camp/retreat atmosphere with just right amount of amenities to be a comfortable gringo in MX you'll love it here. We met other open minded individuals who attested to the great cooking (we brought our own food). The yoga yurt is a beautiful space to practice. My wife and I came here after being in a fancy boutique in Playa and this was the perfect place to wind down from the bump bump of playas party scene. Its got a great central location to visit akumal, Tulum, and chichen itza (2.5 hours away). We will definitely return

Thanks Leon. We learned so much about the Eco environment...eating, living etc.(and Yoga for me) I define this as a jungle bed and breakfast with cozy living. The staff were just as excited as we. They were visiting as well and exchanged work for board. Everone was unique and we all bonded in our own way. Thats the unexpected experience my wife and I will always remember. A truly remarkable trip. Thanks for the memories!

The Shiva house was perfect for our family of 5 with three kids of 9, 11 and 12), very spacious, clean and a lovely athmosphere. We all felt really at home!! Our children loved playing with the dogs and visiting the vegetable garden. The owner took us to the local cenote and that was a real gift to all of us, thank you! The evening we arrived there was a delicious soupe waiting for us.... One minor cons: although the bedroom was very clean, the kitchen not so much, so that could be improved (and just to be difficult the lights in the kitchen could be better conceived). The forest is great and the children really enjoyed running around, my husband felt a bit claustrophobic as trees are very dense. The location is perfect, just minutes away from beaches and Mayan ruins (Tulum and Coba) but away from crowds. We would certainly love to stay again.

We loved it.

We loved the place. But definitely rustic so that is what you should expect. There was a salamander crawling on the wall of our room when we first entered. Nature is right there! The price was very affordable though so even though the amenities were lacking in some areas (very little hot water in the shower, fairly hard mattresses, lack of can opener in the kitchen, etc) it was worth what we paid for it. We rented a car to drive to local sites and the beach. Gorgeous beaches were only a few minutes drive away.

This is also a great way to support a local business and get an authentic experience of Mexico.
