Comments about LocoGringo Sandos Playacar Beach Resort:
Loved staying at Sandos and we are actuallygoing back tomorrow! Food and service were great last year and I love the location: close to downtown to the north - secluded empty beaches next to the jungle to the south.
The Riviera suites are perfect for a week or longer get away - they are furthest away from thebeach but we loved our daily walks - no more than 5 minutes.
Didn't like that the internet was ristrictive and expensive. BUt otherwise we really had nothing to complain about. Staff was wonderful and we hope to get the same service again this year.

Two years ago we stayed here & ABSOLUTELY loved it. We visited a Dream resort last year but decided to come back to the Sandos. This is a great place for families. Lots of food. The staff is absolutely amazing. The beach was wonderful. I can't wait to go again.
The only things I did not like were the pushiness of the time share people and the rooms. The rooms at the Dream were definitely better. However, we did not spend much time in our rooms anyway. I can live with an okay room when everything else is so awesome.

The best thing about the property is the location near downtoen Playa. The all inclusive food and service is good. Do not go to the Gaucho Steak House. There is poor a/c and lazy staff. It was 1/3 full and had no one to take order. The Brazilin steakhouse staff was good. The Maitre de threw his chair when we arrived late. he tried to deny our reservation and when we showed it to him he got very angry and made a good restaurant a very unpleasant experience. As far as arrival it is very unpleasant to arrive at noon or earlier and be denied entry to your reserved room until 3 or later in the afternoon which is what this hotel does. The luggage is set on the front lobby patio. When you ask for help with the luggage when the room is finally ready there is noone to help. the only person out here threw up his hands and shrugged when we aked for help with the luggage or finding our room.
