Comments about LocoGringo Riu Playacar:

This was our 8th trip to this part of Mexico and without a doubt the staff at the Riu Playacar are the friendliest and most efficient we've encountered anywhere. Whether interacting with guests or each other, they were just a happy bunch. That can go a long way towards making an enjoyable experience for all.

Rooms are comfortable and spotless. I witnessed a housekeeping supervisor running a finger around the outside of the sliding glass door to check for dust! Even the balconies were immaculate. The rooms appeared to have been recently updated. Bathrooms were spacious and the toilets were another "best in the RM". If you've visited Mexico before then you know how hit and miss that can be. Updated toilets and sewer systems are a definite luxury! Another resort just a stone's throw away still has a "no paper in the toilet" policy.

Taste in food can be very subjective but we thought it was delicious overall. Lots of variety and something for everyone! It was better than most we've had in the area. The meats were seasoned and cooked perfectly, for the most part, which is a rarity! Drinks are the typical AI fare, which is to say they aren't great, but the margaritas on Mexican night in the buffet were delicious, so they can make a good one when they want to ;-)

The beach is gorgeous, with lots of loungers and not much shade and the pools are adequate (nothing spectacular) with lots of both. They don't have poolside or beachside service per se but staff members make the rounds offering drinks, ice cream and fresh fruit on a regular basis which is a nice touch.

Overall a great little resort, just the perfect size, with amazing employees. We'll be back!

Comments about LocoGringo Riu Playacar:

We found the general condition of the property to be very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the food to be above average for an all-inclusive resort. The rooms were not fancy but certainly adequate. The downside was the hardness of the beds. I cannot believe that this aspect of the guests comfort is ignored. A bed pad will be provided if asked for. It does help somewhat.
